We are delighted to announce the official opening of Little Lights Nursery, welcoming our very first children through the doors this week. The new provision offers high quality early years education for 3 and 4 year olds, providing a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

The opening day was filled with excitement as children explored the purpose built outdoor play area, got creative with Play-Doh, and enjoyed a range of nursery rhymes and storytelling activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination.

Headteacher, Michael Park expressed his pride in the new nursery and the joy of seeing it come to life:

“We are incredibly excited to open Little Lights Nursery. It has been a joy to welcome our first group of children and see how quickly they have settled in, enjoying their new nursery environment and the rich, play-based learning it offers. We are committed to giving every child the very best start to their education, and our highly skilled staff support children in growing in confidence as they explore our well-resourced indoor and outdoor areas.”

Meabh O'Kane, Nursery Lead, added:

“This incredible opportunity to open Little Lights Nursery and begin children’s journey at 3 years old is truly special to us, and we feel privileged to be part of the very start of their learning experience. We are so proud of our excellent, caring staff who are passionate about nurturing each child and helping them grow in confidence and curiosity. We want every child to feel happy and safe as they explore, learn, and discover through play with our indoor and outdoor facilities, laying strong foundations for a lifelong love of learning”.

We have already received positive reviews and parents have begun sharing their feedback about the new nursery. Cerise Quadling, a parent, wrote:

“Thank you for such a lovely first day, my son absolutely loved it and told me how kind you all are!”

Another parent commented:

“I have just looked through all the photos with my daughter, and she had the best day with her new teachers and friends. Well done to everyone involved, I’m so glad you have opened Little Lights Nursery.”

A parent (who has other children attending The Manor Primary School), shared that:

“Having had our children attend The Manor for several years, where they were so well nurtured, and still having children at the school, it was an instant and wholehearted yes from us when enrolling our son into the new, fabulous nursery.”
“He comes home incredibly happy every day and often asks to stay for even more hours, which says it all. The nursery provides excellent, nutritious lunches and snacks, giving us total peace of mind.”
“The amazing outdoor area is a real standout - it offers so many opportunities for the children to explore, play, and learn in such a fun, safe, and stimulating environment.”
“Most importantly, the staff truly go above and beyond and care for the children as if they were their own. With the encouragement, structure, and support my son receives every day, I have no doubt that he will be more than ready for reception when the time comes and will continue to absolutely thrive there.”

The Manor Primary School is part of The White Horse Federation and the nursery is part of a wider commitment by The White Horse Federation to expand high-quality early years provision across the trust.

Simon Cowley, Director of Primary Education at The White Horse Federation, commented:

“The staff at The Manor have worked incredibly hard to create a nurturing and engaging environment, and we are delighted to see the nursery welcomed so warmly by the community.”

Little Lights Nursery has places available for 3 and 4 year olds, and families are warmly invited to visit, meet the team, and take a tour of the new facilities.
